Putting In The Work... by Mr. Serv-Her

Serving for Success!
How many times have you heard someone say that "Marriage is hard, it's a lot of Work!"  When I got engaged a little more than 6 years ago, I remember so many people telling me that..... almost Warning me that marriage is "Work" as if I had to get up at 5 A.M. Strap on a hard hat and some steel toe boots, clock in and work a 24 hour shift for the rest of my life. And even now couples still come up to me and my wife and proclaim how much "Work" being married is.  They have no problem scaring the crap out of younger couples, whom believe they are marrying the Love of their lives and are going to live the rest of there life in Sweet Bliss.

Its so funny, I have heard so many people preach how hard marriage is, and how much Work it is, I found myself repeating those same exact words to a dear friend of mind.  After our conversation, I was so baffled because my marriage hasn’t been "Work" at all!! My Marriage is fun, and exciting.  I enjoy my wife’s company and miss her when she is away! We go and do everything together and I can’t stand when we are apart.  My marriage is absolutely NOT WORK..... That’s not to say that me and my wife don’t go through rough patches and have issues. But even in that there is no one else I’d rather go through the bad stuff with.

On another note, have you seen these "Work" couples? You ever notice how rundown they are and beat up. They don’t EVER seem happy, and get disgusted when they are around other Happy Couples. You gotta love'em, they mean well and they do have some sound advice, because they have been through it all. Literally! But there is nothing about them that I want to emulate.

The point is to "Work On" your marriage. Everyday there is something you can be working on within the marriage to make your marriage GREAT! When you "Work On" your marriage constantly that will prevent those rough patches and issues from growing and festering into bigger issues...or snowballing! "Working On" your marriage will allow you to see your spouse in many different ways, and learn things about them that might usually go unnoticed. And you will gain a greater appreciation for them.....

NOW, Let's Go To Work!!!
